Uploading New Files
The first step is to decide where you want the file link to go. Within the editor window, put your cursor on the spot that the link will go. For example, if you wanted to add a link to an article that said "Click here to view this article", your cursor would look something like this:
The caption will insert the "Click here" part of the sentence.
Now we can upload the file. Working with the top of the editor window, look for the "Upload Media" area and locate the small image like the one circled below.
To upload files click the file image and a window will open.
First click the browse button to select the file you want to upload from your computer.
Next fill in what you want the link to say, this is the text that will appear in the editor.
Next, decide whether the file will open in a new window click the check box "Opens new window." Generally, you can leave this unchecked.
If you are going to use the file in multiple places in the site, click the "Save to the Media Library for future use". You will be able to pull from the library any file that is saved there to use on multiple pages without having to upload the file again.
Do Not upload sensitive materials, for example, Private business documents, obscene or racially insensitive materials, or copy written material unapproved by the author.
Lastly, don't forget to click the Upload File button to add the file to the current page and place it in the library if you chose to do so.
Uploading Files Saved to the Media Library
Once you have uploaded files and chose to put them in the library, simply go to the file icon in the Library section and choose from the files there to add to the page.
